I haven't noticed any differences. The weed might make one more patient?

I tried it one time, I can't say if it helped my chess as I didn't inhale. 😕

Not had any since uni - from what I can remember I don’t think the effects of a spiff would do much for my Chess, though I suppose it does relax you.

if you have a bad habit of rushing your moves...it certainly slows your day down enough...to where you may just focus on only one game. Certainly good at patience and taking more time.... always a +

As I understand it, there is an IM who is a fan of it in the OTB scene near me.

However, I don't think he plays under the influence and who's to say whether he'd be a patzer or GM without it?

The main drawback is, it dulls the mental faculties sooner than you’d think with regular use. In my teens I saw a lot of friends slowly loose brain cells, I was always a bit more sensible and just rolled a couple on Friday night.

Lets face it you can spot a pot head a mile away and there are never many at a Chess tourney 😉

the differences with me are really large. It makes me way more positional than my usual tactical games. I just look at squares and pawn structure instead of search for tactics. surprisingly my ability doesnt go down too far.

You just never know what you may read about in the forums here at RHP. 🙂 It's never dull.
