Mate with Stipulations.

Only Chess

My favorite mate with stipulations was her reply, "Well ok, but you have to take me to dinner first." 😲

Seems like the solution. Though I'm still trying to figure out how to counter 16 ... f4 instead of fxe4.

EDIT: After 17. f3 your white bishop is trapped. So I guess it is not good enough 😉.

Perhaps this is a more forcing way.
After 12. Bxe5 there are 3 options for white.
a)12. ... Kxa3 (see pgn 2)
b)12. ... fxe5 (see pgn 1)
c)12. ... f4 13. Bxf4 Kxa3 following the principle of option a again (no problems because the bishop covers the a7-g1 diagonal at all times)

Please tell me if I missed something.

Thanks Paladin for keeping them right whilst I was away.

The first one was quite easy. Only the 2nd White move needs thinking about.
All of Black's moves are forced.

The Bishops Only Problem. (composed by H.E. Dudeney BCM 1917.)

Here is Paladin's solution from the 18th June 2008.

I don't understand why everybody wanted to let the king out of that box just to try and put it back in... 😕

"White can only move his Bishops." 😕

aha... I didn't apply that to the pawn. fxe4 puts a whole new twist on the problem then. hmmm.
