Well,
I know Weyerstrass hasn't lost yet. I know he's had some position where he has had to really pull it out. However, I think Seadevil may have just got the best chance for a victory that I've seen since i've been watching his games. Their games are always full of fireworks, and this one is no different.

i noticed that tournament as one strass my lose without losing a game..
and he hasn't finished... ALL... his games... *wink*
but no call as to the position as this game is IN PROGRESS and analysis is not currently allowed. I notice however, that Weyerstrass isn't utilizing his same opening or defenses when he plays against Seadevil... Perhaps their is a reason he doesn't want to play him in the French or the English....
dunno. 🙂
Weyerstrass is very consistent in his opening play.
He is not easy to beat. It takes considerable chess insight and calculation to play as he did in the games below.
Game 1137245 B vs Dynamic09
Game 685913 W vs IronMan31
Game 2423887 B vs Akizy
Weyerstrass is not invulnerable as indicated by his play in certain points of these games.
Game 3663800 B vs franz007at
Game 1783702 B vs Gatecrasher
Game 1397460 B vs caissad4

Also note that seadevil indeed prepares his openings for Weyerstrass as he opened using the Reti variation found in the problematic Gatecrasher game that you pointed out.
1 Nf3 has become a choice opening against strass for seadevil.
Just as Northern Lad is working the kinks out of his kingside attack on Weyer's French Defense.

Hard to say though, both players know more than any of us.
Good reference tho squelch...as always 🙂

Weyerstrass has always answered the reti with 1...d5, so he is not getting out of his opening repertoire against seadevil.
his most popular opening is 1. c4 the english and it isn't atypical for him to transpose into a maroczy like position. Against seadevil he's using a double fianchetto. Furthermore his defensive system is almost exclusively the french and indian, he's been pulled away from those typical defenses as of late.
And when he's white against seadevil, i cannot find a single game in which he plays the english. You would think there would be at least 1.

I recently check the Player Tables and I saw that Weyerstrass's rating is now 2450. I had really thought that somebody had beaten him. However, he still has 0 lost games. He drew a game recently, bringing his rating down. Is there anybody that can beat him?!?!?!?
