Saying if a game is possible to win or not effectively determains what move you make. This is still advice and you will have to wait till the end of the game.

there are very few positions where one colour can't win, given the right blunders.... I can think only of the situation when there is a King and no or just one knight or one bishop involved that the colour can't win. This excludes more complicated positions, where every move leads to a stalemate.

For the record: this is applicable to any game and thus doesn't constitute a help.

Thank you, not really looking for help. trying to decide if i should offer draw or resign. I played the game out in a couple fashions and so long as he does not make any major mistakes. white can win it pretty easy. Thus, not wasting 4-15 days more on a game i cannot get at least a tie on.

No, not really..
If i looked at the game and said, You can win. you might look a little harder for possiblity.. if you still don't see it than you might play the 20 moves hoping you see it sometime alone the way.

Now if 20 people came up and said.. no, you will lose period. then i can save myself 20 moves of a ballet and resign the game.
So, yes, in this an ONLY this point does this so called advice determine how i will move by letting me know i should be pushing my king over.

telling someone they CAN win will not dictate what moves they should make in order to accomplish it or let alone what moves the other person will make to make sure you do or do not win.

Some arrogant people on this site, some who toss games on bogus accounts to fluff thier rating. some who are accused of using some computer program to play thier games because they get beat by someone.. I guess there is no substitute for playing live games. then you get to banter, shoot quips and play a fun game without everyone freaking the hell out over something so small that really means nothing in the grand scheme of things.
Have to thank some of you for a warm welcome and some of you, i just have to bid goodbye. don't think i will enjoy playing with some anal retentive people who just want to suck the fun out of a GAME.

Sorry - please take it as a solid rule that any comment on games in progress is not allowed, so please don't ask. I've removed all posts refering to the game in question to avoid any replies regarding the game.

One general point: although we really appreciate you guys alerting posts like this one (we'd never know about them otherwise) I would ask that you please not quote an offending post when replying to it. It just means that we have to remove your posts too and your comments are lost.

Thanks
