Joined 16 Apr '07 Moves 35523 Ugh, a 12 hour stint at work and trying to think chess. Nah! But - please, post here your most morphyesque games! I expect to see central pawns out two squares, simple and quick development, early castling (or Kf1(f8), open lines, deflections, pins, skewers and forks.
If its 50 moves no. If the first surprise is with heavy pieces off no. Open games preferred. What you got!?

Here is a so so 3 minute game from yesterday.
I was black.
1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.d4 exd4 4.Nxd4 Nf6 5.Nxc6 bxc6 6.Bd3 d5 7.e5 Qe7 8.O-O Ng4 9.Bf4 g5 10.Bg3 h5 11.h3 h4 12.hxg4 hxg3 13.fxg3 Qxe5 14.Re1 Bc5+ 15.Kf1 Rh1# {Black mates} 0-1
7. ... Qe7 was a terrible mistake by me. Luckily, something good came from it.
I felt like 9. ... g5 was necessary to get the fire started after my opening blunder.

[/pgn] That game is very nice, and I think it's sound too.
I probably could have looked at the board for an hour without coming up with the idea of Rae1 🙄

Search Morphy and ECO Code 000. That brings up ALL his odds games.
Search Morphy Thompson 000 to get 3 Birds by Morphy.
