In Progress 381

i just wonder how this will end ... helden seems to survive but plays fewer games and at a lower standard ... cheshire cat and dustnrogers play at an intermediate levels and usually have massive strings of timeouts ... lets watch and see ... maybe mrshogi will drop to 500, or jump to 2500!

Well he moved 'only' 1031 moves this month, this is the same order of magnitude as Quirine with 887. The number of games have to be seen in relationto moves /time.

But we'll see how the situation will develop

I can't figure out how a player with a 2000 rating can manage to run 381 games in progress.. 😕

pretty tough eh?

I agree that people have different capabilities but till what extent 🙄

Are you accusing him of something? I would have thought, considering your history with cheaters, that you'd prefer to keep your opinions ot yourself.

Don't forget Trackhead21. He played at a very high level in massive amounts of games...

Mr. Shogi (Mrs. Hogi??) has cut down four games by winning (against rather low level players). 1107 moves this month still rather moderate.
And do we know how much time mrshogi devotes to chess?

I have a feeling he may be involved in more than one (probably 5 or 6) of those stupidly massive tournaments. If memory serves, he seems to enter lots of these '20 people in a group' tournaments. He's probably just had a load of second rounds kick in. League's as well? Wouldn't surprise me. I can't imagine he'd actually choose to have quite that many games...

I think you are right, Marinkatomb. I looked up his games. Most are tournament games, and he didn't move in 47 games in October at all...

I suggest we assume that no fould play is involved from his (her?) side.

I don't suspect Mrshogi of cheating for a second. I've played him and he didn't exactly blow me away. I'm playing him right now as it happens. I loose to engines in under 30 moves, i'm generally lost inside 20, he is a good player who is about to take a rating drop due to a ridiculous game load. Pity...

I am playing him too, although I cannot discuss the game, as it's in progress, although he's running out of time in a game I handed out a rather generous time-bank. When I first started playing him, he was 2100 plus rated, now he's 1950ish, he took a big dive as low as 1800 one time during our game. He's simply a very good player who took on too much and sacreficed games. He's continuing my game, and in fairness, I think I'm winning, but I imagine he thinks he's winning, it's a double edged endgame queen promotion race that I calculated I wanted to go into. Could be wrong, and I think I've already spoken too much, but I suppose it isn't against the rules to state "I think I'm winning a game in progress", as long as others don't butt in and give advice to either player. This post is mostly in his defense, he's not an engine. I'll talk/anlyze about the game later in this thread whenever it finishes if people want.

The timeouts for the September hardcore tourny have now started - the poor player just has too many games.

I've had 8 games in the last 6 weeks against him. All tournament games. All lost!
