My first chess club game!

So I went to a chess club in my neighbourhood for the first time! Didn't quite know what to expect but it was o.k. The only thing I had trouble with was writing down the moves and sometimes forgetting to stop the time 😳

I won my first game against this Korean player who couldn't really speak English 😕 Here's the move list:

Any thoughts? I think I made some unneccesary moves i.e. 12Qb5

I went to chess club in my town, with four of my friends (one near 2000 FIDE), Annubis on RHP, and we were shy and we tried to ask for some membership... We asked the main guy who starred at us strangely (weird guy, GM though) and he whisperred silently something like: "you can come and play". Other players starred at us too 😲

It was our first and last time there 🙁

every chess club i go to is full of wierdos....and yes they stare...and they never welcome anyone.

i find it hard to believe that the uscf allows these "unwelcoming" club directors to have a club....

and if you're good looking? forget it...nobody will talk to you....well thats from my experience.

We have a character at our club who shall remain nameless. Looks just like Doc off Back to the Future.
During his games you can hear him mumbling (to himself I think) "Aah the Winawer variation... I first played this in '57... *cough* tum-tee-tum-tum" etc.
Quite funny if you're on the next board & winning. Incredibly annoying if you're within earshot & struggling in your own game.

There are some really helpful members there as well though. One very strong player (ECF 133 & rising) went through my last game after glancing at it from the next board & gave some very useful analysis.
He said it was a fascinating game.
