A nice first time effort. Slightly unsound piece sac, but down amongst
the under 1400's piece activity and a fetile mind will usually triumph
over material loss.
Black should have play 9...Qxg5 and that would have been that.
(watch out for that one - it's a common type of error).
thanks for looking at the game, btw 🙂
Yeah, you wrapped it up well. Once your opponent blundered
the piece back you made it look easy.
Piece activity and gambit play (don't be afriad to shed a pawn or two)
is the secret to success against under 1400's.
You got away with the dodgy f7+ sac (this time).
6.dxe5 first and if 6...dxe5 or 6...Bxe5 then sac on f7.

look out for those ...Qxg5's!! - I guess that's the main lesson to be learned from this game
The to main points:
How to prepare the conditions for a Bxf7 psuedo sac.
And the advice:
"Piece activity and gambit play (don't be afriad to shed a pawn or two)
is the secret to success against under 1400's. "
Is what you can take from this game

It takes 20 games to get a rating here. Anything other than your rating after 20 games is a "guesstimate". BTW if you are still playing after 20 games you deserve a medal, there are too many cowards who only post in the forums without playing. Even if you lose, lose but make an effort to play.
I think he is on the wrong thread - but words of wisdom non-the less.

My second game was a miniature as well.
Any word of advice would be appreciated..

2. Analyse the game yourself first before asking for advice - I'm quite sure you are capable of doing this yourself. Ask only when you can't figure it out by yourself.
