What if the queen doesn't take back? After 21. Rxb8 Qf8 wouldn't that require that the queen be moved from e5. 22. Qc7 threatening 23. Qxf7+ 24Rxf8# but black can still make luft even though a horrible position and will lose the queen. I dunno maybe.

You're right, but rook versus queen & rook is a lost game anyhow.
