I was going through some games of Maxim Sorokin this morning. Sorokin died from injuries sustained in a car crash earlier this week.

Here is the position just before the end of a game where Sorokin was White against the Irish (via Russia) GM Alexander Baburin:

    White to move and win.

That's what I thought as I was going through the game, but Sorokin found a much better move!

Rxf6 also looks forcing... am I wrong?

    Bishop to f8?

    Bg5 wins the queen

Yes it is. So 1.Bg7 is wrong.

    What about 1.Bg5 ?

Yes the answer must be Bg5

Nice, Bg5!! Great move, didn't see that earlier. fxg5 is off the cards because Rxf7 forces mate.
exf5 gives Bxf6+, And of course Qg8 also fails to Bxf6+, Rg7, and Rg5 is curtains for black.
