1.e4,Nc6
When playing white,is there a sure way to steer this back into 1.e4,e5 territory?Or,at least ensure a good advantage,if black avoids that?

Thanks 🙂

If you play 2. Nf3... e5. The game would then transpose into a regular e-pawn set-up.

It's a sound defense, so there should be no way to ensure a good advantage.

I don't necessarily want a good advantage.I want either to transpose back to an 1.e4,e5 line, either,if black avoids that, ensure a good advantage.Question is,is that possible at all....

I too play Nc3,trying to transpose to a vienna, but black doesn't have to play 2...,e5.That's the problem.

Well obviously you brought this up for a reason. What did your opponent play in this case?

Sure but i don't really see his alternatives as a big threat.
Any other move seems passive to me.

The few times I encountered it,2.Nc3,e5 was played, transposing into the vienna. The reason I ask,is that I'm trying to create a repertoire,so I need something for all possible lines.
