im 1 of those players with the following strategy. dont make mistakes and try not to waste moves. Any opinions? shoud i broaden my horizions? if so how?

Well, if you don't make any mistakes, then you will also take advantage of attacking oppurtunities. If you didn't make any mistakes you'd be the perfect player but I don't think that is what you mean.

I think you mean, I play conservatively. That is fine, probably a good and safe decision. It may mean your games are boring, but you won't hang pieces.
