Here is a game where I attempted the Noah's Ark Trap although my opponent spotted this. He/she avoided 8. Qxd4 and played 8. Qh5 instead.
Game 1599883
Was my game already doomed from 8 onwards? What other mistakes did I make?
Originally posted by lauseyI don't get it. What's the trap with 8. Qxd4?

You made a few mistakes.
After 12 ... Bxe4 you needed to move the bishop again as it is under real threat of getting pinned and then lost. you should have played Bxb1 or B-c6 either on move 13 or 14
15 ...b5xc4 was poor as it opened up the diagonal for his bishop
16 ... B-g7 was also poor as you moved a defender protecting your semi pinned queen
after that you had had it
