Is there a name for every 1 move opening? Or are just a lot of openings obscure with no real reason behind it?

That is correct. Anderssen tried 1.a3 three times against Morphy and managed one win, one draw and one loss.

The only time that I ever took clear first in a blitz tournament at the Chess Palace in Los Alamitos, California (now located in Garden Grove), I played 1 g4 in every game as White and 1...g5 in every game as Black.
