I am new to this site and wonder how you offer a draw to your opponent.

On the right of the board a a few links. One of it is named "offer draw" you should click this and click ok in the window that will pop up.
And you still ahve to make a move.

It it is not your turn you can't offer a draw.

Play for the win!! Only draw if it is a completely drawn position.

When I offer a draw, I use this tactic. I begin with:
....Dear chess colleague, I'm sorry to interrupt this exciting game of chess, but something happened... Allas... My great grandmother will soon undergo brain tumor surgery and I had to accept an extra job so I could pay for medical expenses.
Also, I know some very important people, you know... :wink :wink
Considering your previous record, I assume that a draw would be mpre than fair you.
Don't you think?
Yours trully

Thanks for that. I didn't realise the draw offer button is only available when it is your move.
