Where can one get one on one coaching online maybe with chat and over the phone? I would like to play some games and have someone tell me what I can do better.

There are a lot of users on this site that are willing to play games with you and help you understand what you could do better in those games.

I've played dozens of games with User 207522, and my rating has skyrocketed. There are many good teaching players on this site.

These aren't exactly what you asked for, but you might find them useful anyway...

You can submit your games to these sites and have them analyzed:

http://freechess.org/Ladder/index.html
http://www.chessville.com/instruction/Annotated_Games/instr_annogames_submit.htm
http://www.chess-database.com

There's also Usenet's rec.games.chess.analysis:

http://groups.google.com/group/rec.games.chess.analysis/topics?lnk=srg

And, of course, you could post your games here, ask questions, and get advice.

But, if you're set on speaking to someone live over the phone or online, you might want to search around for a chess coach. They usually cost money, but can be very much worth it, if you find the right one and can dedicate the time it will take to follow through on their advice.

And, finally, you could always try finding a local chess club and asking for help there.

I usually pick up players who are promising in blitz play. I see they have good tactics but poor opening middle game and sometimes endgames. I walk them through games and help them get better. So far i've tought probably 15-20 people on here and within 1 or 2 games their ratings have increased by 25-50 pts easily. wittywonka was 1280 when i started helping him 3 and a half months ago! Unfortunatly I cannot take on any more games I'm teaching about 10 games at the moment. The reason I teach online is because 2 years ago when I had just started nobody helped me at all. I didn't get any help till I reached a good 1550 avg.

Have you read any chess books yet? I would suggest first going through a book like Yasser Seirawain's "Play Winning Chess" to learn some of the basics, then after that a coach might be more useful to help you breakdown your games.

books were my haven. now i hate reading too boring. play the best to learn from the best. become the best ;-) after a certain ammount of books you get burnt out.

Well I'll start you off after looking at a few of your games.

Try to only make 2 or 3 pawn moves in the first 10 moves of the opening.
Your games are getting off to poor starts because of a lack of simple piece development in the early stages.

I think (s)he's a cranky 35 year old dude pretending to be a decent-looking chick, actually.

I'd train people if I didn't blow or if I gave two craps about you, unfortunately I don't.
