I wanted to post that Oregon State University has a new chess club. Membership is free & open to students, faculty, & Corvallis residents. The club meets weekly for over the board games. Please join us! Check out our webpage for the exact time & place: http://people.oregonstate.edu/studentgroups/chess/home/

Good question. We have a broad range of skill levels. No IMs though. We have a few people at USCF ~1800 (or possibly higher, excuse my ignorance ). If I were to guess an average rating I'd say it would be around 1350, but that's just a guess.

I should also mention that the club advisor Dave Bannon often wins or places at the Oregon Open reserve section each year.
