I didn't actually analyze it at all before making that statement, it just all looked good, so I said it. my bad.

oh well, it was 5-0 blitz, so I thought the idea of Be3, Qd2, f4 f4 Bxh6 was all ok, maybe I could have played an h3 in there, to get rid of the Ng4 threat?

You could have played h3 (instead of 7.Qd2 or 8.f4?) but then black were able to play d5 anyway which would solve all their problems.
