ive tryd it with notepad and word, but adding ".pgn" to the end of the file name doesnt seem to be enough, am i missing something? i notice when browsing with chessbase it has *.cbh etc. as acceptable files, but i dont seem to be able to add the "*".
Also, did you try just pasting the text into chessbase?

Originally posted by TheDarkKnightI almost mentioned this little quirk of Notepad, but sometimes it is better to learn things on your own. If you don't choose "all files" in the "save as type" it will add the .txt extension.
guess i had to save it as "all files" or something. thx all:-)
.cbh files are created by, and viewable only with ChessBase. With the full version of ChessBase you easily can convert PGN files to ChessBase format, which is necessary in order to enable all the search and data organization features for which ChessBase is famous.
