Can you help me with plans for black where white plays e3 instead of e4.
    Moves can be 1 d4 Nf6, 2 c4 g6, 3 Nc3 Bg7, 4. Nf3 0-0 5. e3

    Thanks

I believe a more common line is something like this

    1.d4 Nf6
    2. c4 g6
    3. Nc3 Bg7
    4. e4 d6 (e4 is much more common than e3)
    5. Nf3 O-O

A lot of the times, I've noticed Black plays h6, and with the g6, h6 and f7 pawns, with the g7 bishop, its a hard fortress to break.

I am fairly comfortable with white playing e4.
I need help where white plays e3, and doesnt try to grip the center.

In the KID - Black cramps his own position, doesn't claim the centre, etc....and yet, Black can still reach equality.

White, In the KID tends to take full advantage of blacks development and grabs the centre, yet, despite best efforts, black can still equalise....

So....I should imagine playing e3 is weak....

^its been played 13 times, with very little sucess for white.

the most common move for black in this position seems to be 4.d5
