Speaking of playing the KIA ...
Here a take by Duncan Suttles:
Whenever I play the KIA and black captures on e4, I end up with a funny looking bishop on g2. Black ends up with a wonderful bishop on a6. Here Duncan, quite originally, cuts all that out by not following g3 with Bg2!!! I'm not saying it's the absolute best way to play, but it blew my mind. 🙂

Not bad....but have you considered the Double Onion Corkscrew?
This reaches the same position but with Black also doing the Knight switch.
