I have lost my last 10 games by only a few moves. I wonder if taking a break would be beneficial. I usually have at least 3 games on the go at all times. But I wonder if I am not paying as much attention lately?

Take a week off...it will help.

I had a bad run when playing blitz, i took a months break and came back and won most of my games.

So yes, take a break for christmas.

Playing too much might lead to this: http://oomsa.com/files/admin/66_pics_101960.jpg Take a break.

Yeah, if you play too much you can get saturated it with it and you won't make the best move- My advice, take a break for a week or two, and the results will come

hell no! you're just moving way too fast. make a point of never moving within the hour you see the move of your opponent. no excuses. it's like running the first 100m of marathon under 10 seconds, there's just absolutely no way you'll make it to the end. this is CC, not blitz.

And you are a hero because you play 20 at a time? Perhaps I have more of a life.

Anyway, the other advice is good thank you everyone else. I don't think I am burnt out, just moving fast without thinking because I am busy with other things. Time off is a good idea.

You have to let your brain cool down sometimes. Take a break from playing and pick up a good chess book.

If you take a permanent break and never play again you will never lose another game.

Perhaps I sounded a bit mean. I decided to take a look at a few of your games to see how you play and what kind of blunders you may be making by moving too quick. Here'as one that is representative of how you play:

I am just speechless. Trust me, you really do play very poorly and seem to be clueless. Your first 5 moves demonstrate how badly you understand the game (And this game was one of your wins) They are the opening moves a small child might make.

edit: I've since looked at several more games. Wow. You don't need a break, you need some knowledge. I'm not trying to be a jerk, but seriously, you are a terrible chess player. Completely stinko right from the first move. Playing too much is not your problem, not knowing how to play is your problem.

I'm going to sound terrible, but I agree with Sam.
Get a chessbook.
And if you are losing, work on improving, don't take a break.
I know sometimes taking a break really does help, but not in this scenario.

Yep, as Lenin put it, "learn, learn, learn." I doubt that one needs rules as neurotic as "don't move within an hour after seeing your opponent's move," but not moving too hastily really is a good idea too.
