I just finished two games. My rating was 1223 and I beat someone who's rating was 1224, my rating went up 9 points to 1232. The second game I lost to someone who's rating was 1297 and my rating dropped 14 points to 1218. Does'nt this seem backwards? Should'nt you lose less points when losing to someone who's rated well above you and conversely gain more points when beating someone well above you? How is the rating calculated? Thanks for any info
