In 3 games I have played against people from Portugal. The games went as follows:

    1. g4 e5
    2. f4?? Qf6??

Does the Queen only move two squares at once in Portugal or something?

    I guess it dives..the Queen is C***iano Ronaldo. 😛

I've noted some interesting geographic tendencies as well!

For example, when I'm black after 1. e4 c5, a bunch of British guys have all followed up with 2. Bc4, Qf3, and Nh3.

At first I thought it was a crude hacking attempt by new players, but as I have played higher-rated players over time, it still makes its appearance. I play the Hyperaccelerated Dragon, and that may invite it a bit, but still...

For a while I suspected that Everyman or Gambit had released a new repertoire book in the UK advocating it as a system, and it just hadn't made it to the States ye, but none of my UK opponents would come clean with me.

    But I wonder ...😕

    Blame me.

Before the start of every game you play I get PM'd by your opponents
asking me what to play against you.

    I say 2. Bc4, Qf3, and Nh3.

However I'm getting bored with that.
What do you want me to tell them to play?

I could always use some Maroczy Bind practice. I think it's white's best system, but hardly anyone plays it.

Or you could really screw with me and tell them all to play <insert sound of phlegm here> ...2. c3. It'll be back to Alekhine's or the Modern in short order.

For me the most worrying part of the post is that you have not noticed Exabyte's moves. 😞

Hey, hey, hey! Why be a hater? I'm sure he's just learning like the rest of us. 😉

I have learned that people missing mate-in-ones are a dime a dozen here at RHP, and I am part of the dozen you get for your ten cents!

I thought the amazing part was that it occurred 3 times, and all by players for Portugal (or I assume at least flying the Portugese flag). Once is a mouse-slip, twice is a coincidence, but 3 times? That's something to post about!

    Hakuna matata, my friend!

The three players who have done it:

    1. User 330658
    2. User 330289
    3. User 285655

Numbers 1 and three have practically the same username, and numbers 1 and two joined within one day of eachother. All have about the same rating and same number of games played. 😲

Your opponents are as stupid as you are.
What pleasure do you get screwing up the rating system?

    ???

Very uncalled-for, especially from someone not rated 2800+.
