I'm new here so forgive me if this has been posted before.
Grampy Bobby posted one on famous people and it reminded me of this one from chessbase a couple of years ago.
Of the 16 Democrats, 11 played chess, including 9 of the last 10 (only LBJ didn't)
Of the 18 Republicans, 8 played chess, but only 1 of the last 7 (Dwight D Eisenhower)
Seems as the Republican party became more right-winged, interest in the game waned. Most of the chess players were from the earlier years. Nixon, Ford, Reagan, and both Bushes didn't play.
Obama, Clinton, Carter, and Kennedy played.
