When you played Ne4, what, exactly, were you thinking?

This was my thoughts exactly, especially with Bg4 straight after, the Ne4 seemed a pointless move. I think the next pivotal blunder involved the other knight when he move Nc6 which allowed my pawn to fork this knight and the queen.

maybe it does waste tempo maybe I am just plain horrible at playing or perhaps my opponent was just very good anyway see how my position gets sacked all to pieces.

perhaps the mistake of losing my queen wasnt the ...[text shortened]... ost brilliant move but what do you guys think see how I fall apart
Well, up untill move 5 you were doing ok.. but 5...Ne4 was a bad move.

After 6.Bd2, your previous move looks very silly at e4 - now threatened by the knight, and with every option to trade it away only helping white's development or position.

Generally, it doesn't pay to go on the attack too early - you had only developed two pieces, and your opponent had more than ample resources to add defence to the knight. Morever, the move 5...Ne4 put the knight in an unprotected position, which ended up costing you dearly. Yuo broke too principles with the move - "don't initiate aggression before you're developed" and "don't move a single piece in the opening more than once if you don't have to".

It's ok to break principles (and indeed, this line of Scandinavian breaks one right off the bat: "Don't bring out your queen early''😉 IF you understand the reasons behind the principles, AND can justify it by some advantage or well thought out tactic, but if you're not sure, it's much better not to.

Better would have been Bg4, developing a piece and pinning the knight.
