Provisionals

I have to plead guilty to that offense, but with extenuating circumstances. I will explain them primarily for illustrative purposes.

About 3 weeks ago, when I was still provisional (I had played 17 games) I was browsing the open invites and saw one for "1400-1500". I qualified for that, so accepted. Then when the game showed up on the "My Games" page, I could see the whole "name" which was "1400-1500 no provisional". I immediately messaged the person who posted the game and apologized, explaining that the "no provisional" was cut off in my browser window, that I was sorry if I caused him inconvenience, that I was "close" to non-provisional status, but that I would completely understand if he preferred to delete the game. He graciously agreed to play, noting that his browser window was doing the same thing. We're playing our second game now.

Of course, around the same time, I posted a pair of open invites for "1400-1600", got one acceptance from a 1500+ player (we're on our 3rd game now🙂), one from a 1200 player 🙁 and one PM from another <1200 player saying he "wasn't 1400 yet" but would I play him anyway. I did play both the other two.

You know what else I really hate? When you make an open invite, and you happen to sign off. Someone accepts your invite, but because you don't move right then and there, they go and delet it on you. Like, hold on a damn second will ya. I'm gonna move, just as soon as I get back online. I move mult. times a day, I really don't think your gonna have to wait that long. If you can't wait, your playing the wrong game pal. You know, its just like that whole problme with provisional players accepting your invites even when you say not 2. Now I have to go create another invite. Ill have you know, my computer is slower than rubber dog crap rolling uphill in january. It takes me like 5 minutes to create an open invite just because of the loading time. Get a grip you people...learn some patience

They just want to play. What difference does it make if that person falls within your preferred rating? Rather put a rating limitation although some would still accept that game.

I think there's just a little too much stress about this here...

well put ravello. well put. you'd think if they snooped around the site a lil bit and went to the players home page, they would see that they are indeed a provisional player. then maybe they would no what the heck us clowns r talkin bout when we make an open invite. when i first joined, i got a bunch of games from prov. players. they should do the same. enough people join everyday to keep a fresh stock of them.

I would hope some time it will be an option when making a game. "No Pro-vees".

Don't get me wrong, I will play them if I see them posting around the forums. I also read the profile.... No profile, no game.

Shutting off Non-Pawn-Stars should not be a built in feature... that should be up to the user.

Shame we can't add restriction to the open invite - range of ratings and a tick box for Pawn Stars only....

im just a starter in RHP so its no wonder im a provisional player and i can see that alot of more expirienced player are angry with provisionals for accepting game offers when asked not to.
but to all these players you should know that also you do it.
on my first day in the website i started a game and called it only begginers and to my surprise players with 1400 answerd the game and started playing so before you get angry just think that its only a game and the reason provisional players want to play against you is because they want to learn from you.

Damn subscribers! LOL...I clearly put "No Subscribers, Provisionals Only" in the game invite. What do I get?? A subscriber.
