I always understood that if a queen moves into one position next to King, that King could capture queen?

no, given that the guy is rated 900 something, it may well have been a serious question.
now, if a 2200 starts asking why the king cant take the queen, then I'll demand a sarcasm parade and a serious philosophical look at the meaning of chess/life.

    yeah, I knew that
D.F. could have been just helping the guy out, OR he could have been being sarcastic. for all we know the player in question just learned how to play within the past week.

    it's correct grammar
    as is "had had"
had had implies that in the past, you possessed something.
been being implies that you were in the process of being something.

    oh, well...
    maybe it was all sarcasm
or maybe he didn't know that the white pawn hadn't been facing backwards at the time of the attack.
maybe, the pawn heard something in the bushes, and turned around to see what it was, and the OP thought that he could take the queen while the guardian pawn was distracted.
