query about chessbase/chess assistant

can they help me improve opening play? I'd like to be able to input a position and see what the most favoured next move is and what percentage is a winning/losing position for each side. This way i can build up my opening by gradually learning the correct response to any opponent move. Would chess assistant or chessbase be able to do this?

Yes, you can easily do that with either database program. It's quicker than learning through books 🙂
