The forums are for discussion, which means all can participate. If you post about an in-progress game, others know they can't join the discussion. You shouldn't do that, as it turns a thread into a one-person (you) discussion.
If it's off limits to others, it's off limits to you, too, whether you "don't care" or not.

It's a game against meman, so who cares? Anyone else I wouldn't do this to, meman is just scum of the lowest cheating form and I don't care if I post a game in progress against him considering he's got Deep Fritz 8 running on a dual 5 GHZ processor helping him out, so it's not like doing this is giving me an advantage at all.
DO NOT ASK PEOPLE FOR ADVICE ON ONE OF YOUR GAMES IN PROGRESS.
Originally posted by dpressnellSince opening books and databases are allowed at RHP, I see nothing wrong with referring a player to one even while a game is in progress (a player always has a game in progress at RHP). I also think that people should stop posting cheating allegations now that the cheat police are soon to be up and running. Play your game and do your best, Mateulose, if someone is cheating it will wind up being sorted out in the long run.

First, he shouldn't be posting on a game in progress, but he does, and his justification is that he doesn't care that it's wrong.
Second, he attempts to cheat by asking others to help him.
He's a cheater, making allegations of cheating.
He should either play his own games without cheating, or not play at all.
Originally posted by dpressnellTechnically, he shouldn't have asked us for the "main line" but giving him the site location of a database is not suggesting moves and is not "cheating" within the rules at RHP. There is nothing in the TOS saying people can't refer other players to different databases and chess sites; it's done routinely in this Forum. If you look at Mateulose's games, you'd know he doesn't cheat; he makes too many obvious mistakes.

He's ...[text shortened]... ions of cheating.

Originally posted by no1marauderI stand corrected, then. In that case, he can ask for discussion and help all he wants on in-progress games. The rules that apply to everybody else doesn't apply to him.

I never thought I would see his unethical behavior defended. He's right. "Nobody cares."
Mateulose, you may now cheat all you want. You may now post all you want to post on your in-progress games. Rules don't apply to you.
I'm sure you will continue your self-righteous and unsupported allegations of cheating by others, though.
In other words, you may continue to consider that the standards that apply to everybody else don't apply to you.
