What is up with this setup, and why are they rated games? Additionally, I can't delete this game. I protest this enormously. I've never heard of this type of chess, and there is no point in playing it as a rated game. How can I delete the game without an effect on my rating?

    This Game 7574130 not rated.
Give it up and your rating will not change. One loss in the Win/lose statistics, not more.
    Or play on...

Uhm... While I agree that the random fischer style is not chess, it unfortunately is foisted upon us by the site.

But you played a couple of moves.

Did you not notice the strange set-up.

Do you still get the dustbin in this chess?
You could have trashed it before making a move.

Think you'd need a few more protesters for that. 😛

I appreciate this thread because I have been a little interested in Fischer Random chess, and I did not even know we could do it until now. I just found out how to do it, and I think it's cool that we have that option!

Does anyone know whether castling is supported for Fischer Random?

I went ahead and started a game too - should be interesting. I remember playing it a while back on ICC, where they did support it.

Edit - It's a bit of a shock really, not a lot like normal chess for the first bit. I just played some random move to start it out, but if you want to be good at it, the first move should actually require a good bit of thought!

It was a great and fun game! In our particular game, I think the advantage of the first move was bigger than "normal", but the game still went back and forth. I would definitely play in a tournament for it.

And I COMPLETELY agree with clandarkfire- the very first move is a "deep think" one!
