I can't stop making huge blunders. I'm having lots of trouble slowing myself down is there any tips you can give me to help me slow down. Heres some examples of some games with huge blunders. Game 3232051 Game 3220963 Game 3231519-This game I could have checkmated on move 20 with Qxe8.

Play less games, practise tactics and slow down. Sleep on a move and play it tomorrow instead of playing instant moves.

I would agree that you should probably play less games. You also dropped your queen in a few of those games. Missing the back-rank mate could be addressed through a lot of tactics puzzles.

For now, I would probably suggest something that I've heard others suggest : Before you make any move, first consider what your opponent would do after you have made it. This normally involves looking for any type of a threat, and that could be in the form of a check, some tactic, or a subtler positional threat like taking over an open file or finding an outpost for a knight.

So, before you move, ask yourself, "Does my opponent have any checks, captures or threats?" That might serve as a mental crutch until you no longer have to actually think about it.

    Hope that helps.

Usually I play fine and I find great checkmates ( Game 3168189 ), but just lately I've been just throwing away queens and missing obvious checkmates.

After your opponent moves do the following:

1.Figure out why he made the move he made.
    2.Choose your move.
3.Visualize playing that move on the board, and then figure out what your opponent will play.

If everything is okay, then make your move.

You should definetely take more time on your moves. Relax, have fun and take your time. That's what long timers are for if you use them.

Was move 20 Qxe8 definitely a checkmate or am I missing something? Would this stop it?

It wasn't a definate checkmate because after the rook took the last rook on the back rank he could have put his queen on f8. Then I would have his queen when Bxf8. Then the only thing he can do from stopping me from playing Bh6# would be Bg7. After all the dust settles white is up a queen and has a definte game win.

Use the Flip Board option to get a different perspective prior to making your move.

    Take your time.

Make your move with the analyze board function, then flip the board and pretend you are your opponent. This is the best way to avoid blunders.

just blundered 3 in a row today... it happens. My mind isn't on the games, I moved - I messed up, I resigned. Next...

I'm just curious to know what you were thinking when you moved your queen to a4? Thanks
