Walked the River Walk last week. If you haven't been for a while there are whole new areas opened up going north and south from the dam. Wife and I walked for over an hour without seeing a single tourist. Up on street level stand with your back to the RW and directly across from the Alamo. Note the view...it is against the law for anyone to build a building behind the Alamo so that it could be seen from that viewpoint. 😉

Yes, when I am playing chess and anyone mentions the Alamo, I, a patriotic American, begin softly to weep, and then I am thankful we have historians like woolybugger to keep us honest, as a nation.
