Average opponents rating 300 points below mine so a 95% score is precisely what would be expected if I had played d4 or e4!
Therefore, I conclude that g4 is even better than h4 or a4 (which is a dreadful move) and just as good as d4 and h4.

Joined 11 Jul '06 Moves 3197 Our game is still not over. It is more playable sure, but not for a novice. The reason why I do not think it is better then d4 (or equal) is that it creates weaknesses.
Joined 21 Apr '06 Moves 4211 I suspect playing people 300 points over you you might get 0.5-1.5ish with e4/d4/c4 openings and 0 with a4,h4,g4.

Again, I'm not out to get you. Just stating an opinion which a lot of people would agree with.

This is because I was enjoying this opening so much!

This is all in the name of fun! Chess is fun (to me!) although I suspect some on this site take it far to seriously!

I have 2 books on it "The Killer Grob" by Basman and "The Tactical Grob" by Bloodgood.
I don't have any books on h4!
GMs have been beaten by g4 and I have personally beaten an IM OTB so it can't be all bad!

Isn't 1. f3 considered the worst first move? I'd say it is. At least a4 and h4 clear paths for the rooks. 1.f3 doesnt open up any pieces, except for the king which you don't want to expose. 1.f4 Doesn't open any pieces either, but at least it takes a share of the center.
