I rarely play d4, but I decided to give it a try. It led to a very strange game in which I made TEN pawn moves in the first 12 moves. Although, I certainly had good reason. Check it out:
1. d4 d5 2. c4 Nf6 3. cxd5 Nxd5 4. e4 Nf6 5. Nc3 Bg4 6. f3 Bh5 7. Qb3 b6 8. g4 Bg6 9. h4 h5 10. g5 Nfd7 11. f4 Nc6 12. f5 Bh7

White to play
The bPf7 is threatened and cannot be defended by the usual timely Bg6 or Ne5. Also, e6, probably the most viable move (I won't even look at Nf6?, fails to fxe6 fxe6 Bxe6 threatening Bf7+ Qe6#.
Was this right or is there a flaw?

I played my first Blackmar-Diemer Gambit game today on RHP Blitz. I thought it would be an interesting change and some GMs recommend playing gambit openings for a While anyway (to get a feeling of the attack, piece coordination and initiative). What's nice about it is that White gets some good initiative and a sharp, interesting game. It feels a bit like the King's Gambit. Moreover, it's hard to avoid. It can be played after 1. d4 d5 or 1. d4 Nf6 and that covers about 85% of the responses I get. The not so nice part is that White has no advantage with best play and may even be slightly worse. Of course, Black has to play accurately and soak up some initiative to do this but it is very doable. That's why it's almost never played at master level and why I wouldn't play it in a standard game.
That was a long introduction! Sorry. Here's the game:

Here's the position after move 15:
Despite many inaccuracies, it was a cool game.
Here's another easy win with the BDG (this time against an 1800 on RHP):

It's incredibly easy to win with this opening if Black goes a little wrong (at least in blitz).
Here's a nice attacking blitz game.

Opponent ran out of time, but was lost anyway.
Given the time control, I missed many strong moves. However, my ideas were clear and usually best. It's just that my execution was not optimal. For example, 28. Re3 instead of Rc7!. Moreover, I'm proud to have found the plan 8. e5 9. e6. Engines don't even see that this is one of the strongest moves until I have them play several moves and allow them a lot of time.
Unfortunately, it's rare that I have such an aggressive and tactical 1. d4 game. Stronger opponents do not play such crap openings and so don't let me get such a huge initiative. Usually I have to fight for a small positional edge - often evaporating towards the endgame.
BTW: The time control for this one was 12 2. Although, I don't see why you care. Just look at the game and judge it on its moves alone.
