no not yet. the database works fine but i can't seem to watch the guy talk about chess.

hi, have you got chessbase 9, if so, go to file, and in the menu select open, chess media file, browse to the location, i take it it will be the dvd drive usually the d: and it should work.

is an excellent appetizer for getting a kind of feel for some openings although it does lack detail as one would expect from an overview.

let us know how you get on.

ok i figured out how to delete games. but do you automatically get rating points when "timeout" and "timebank" run out of time or is their some sort of procedure you have to follow?

If the trash can is still there when the guy times out, there are no points awarded one way or the other. If it's a couple of moves or more into the game and the trash can is not there, when the opponent's time expires, you'll see a little yellow skull next to the game. If you click on it, you'll get a dialogue box asking if you want to claim the win. If you do, then you win the game and point are awarded as though it were a checkmate.
