    Hi Ponderable,

    It's just the way it works.
    You try to solve the puzzle then play out the game to see if you are right (or wrong.)

    That way the solver sees the build up to the critical position which is often the hardest part of all.

    I may just give a game and say 'somehere in there one side can win a piece.'
    Actually I like that idea - look out for puzzle #2.

    If you say you got it I believe you, nobody is keeping score.

    Thanks for the puzzle. You could add in the beginning how many moves are required if it is is forced. And add whether or not , it is forced.

    I thought about adding the move number. Decided against it.
    Finishing off a bloggy thing will have a second problem Monday.
