I guess your opponent overlooked 7.Qh5. The bishops opening is highly tactical and it is a mistake for Black to think he will be able to work out the complications over the board. He should have chosen a quieter way of defending or made judicious use of an opening database.
10.Nf6+ was an excellent move, but you missed the pretty mate: 10.Nf6+ gxf6 11.Qg6+ Kh8 12.Bxf6#. Whenever you have a bishop on the a2-g8 diagonal you should remember that if the f-pawn is pinned then tricks on g6 may work.
