Game 4129675

Randomly clicked on a game between two players who I would say have decent ratings. I fell out of my chair.

You should probably install a seat belt in your chair. Click it or ticket!!! 😛

Why does he need a queen anyway? Scared he cant mate with a rook?

No my point is why is he getting two queens? In fact if a person doesnt resign a lost game, I go out of my way to mate with a rook to make a point. Do people really need to get 2 queens to mate with?

He might just think more material has to be better, or maybe he's ticked off that the guy with the lone king doesn't have the sense to resign. So he gets as many queens as he can to try to send a message. But the risk of having too much material is inadvertantly allowing stalemate.

I agree. In many cases, it's that much easier to mate with more material.

He just blundered because he didn't see the stalemate. Probably because he got cocky and assumed that his opponent was playing to win.

Someone with a 1600 rating should know better. Must be sweet to grab the stalemate. Now whatever you do, deny him the rematch.

By giving the stalemate he has proved the otherside has every right to play on. More people need to learn how to mate with a rook LOL

Do you think you cannot stalemate with a rook? 😉

I've stalemated with a queen a few times, but never with a rook. I think the last time with a queen was like 2 years ago in a blitz game.

I have only a vague memory of the last time I stalemated someone.Must've been over 10 years ago,all I remember is I had a lot of pieces still on the board and I stalemated because I got careless and stopped paying attention.
