So I woke up this morning, expecting about 4 skulls (my opponents had not moved in an eternity and I just wanted the games to be over with)...however it seems they have moved....

it was going to be the highlight of my day:'(

Hopefully they will actually make moves a little more quickly so that the game will be more fun.

If you want to play quickly, play blitz. This type of site is designed for long games and the application of actual thought.

oh you get me wrong...I love long games...but sometimes these games seem to drag on (which is completely within their rights to do, I have done it on several occasions and been rewarded with a draw or even surprise win)...and I was hoping to clear them out and continue lowering my game load down to a reasonable level

How many days does it usually take for a person to figure out a move?

The good part is that if they were about to be skulled, their time back (or whatever it is called) is about up. Now they just have their regular time.

Yeah. That's the good part. 🙄

It is if you want to make a move once a day and you can only play six games.

If I had a fifty games going, that would be another thing.

I think I know what the OP is talking about, when it's huge gaps between moves, you've to study the position each and every time. I prefer going burst of moves with an opponent when both of us are online.

yeah....what was the worst part was I had a chance to skull earlier, but my houses internet died and when I got it back online, rhp was temporarily shut down. When it was back on there was the 24 hour grace period...he moved during that time....and now I am where I am

EDIT: oh, and I did play a flew blitz games....two spectacular wins....two horrific losses...

Gotta admit, I totally know what you mean. Not so much when the game is developed, but when it's taken a month for them to make their first five moves, and I know they're moving in other games, I just wish the game would go away. I'm not a "they need to move every day" type, but it gets extreme. I like to be able to remember the game a little bit, get in the flow of it, even if it is every three days to move. I had a game recently where they played almost fifty moves with two knights against my lone king, and they rejected my draw offers, until finally they offered me a draw. More than once I was counting down the minutes for the skull to appear, and it never did...
