does anyone know what program would win if fidelitys par exellence chess computer played the old sargon 3 program for the mac?and also does anyone own sargon 3 for the mac?please email me at richard_roundy@yahoo.com

My moneys on the fidelity, the par excellence was a great machine, the old sargon programs were not that strong, don't know about sargon 3, though. I own a fidelity elite, play it against fritz a lot, it loses, but sometimes the games are very close.
I believe the elite and par excellence were the same program/par excellence had better hardware/more memory and hash tables with a faster processor.

Yeah fidelity made some great dedicated chess computers, went out of business about 15 years ago.
