In your opinion, does h6 refute the Kerres Attack (g4). I ran into this a while ago, and it changed the whole theme for me. Any ideas against h6?

Mainline seems pretty strong - 7.h4 Nc6 8.Rg1 h5! 9.gxh5 Nxh5 10.Bg5 Nf6

Man my theory is OLD. The line I use calls for an immediate g5 push, followed by a rook lift to g3 and then Bg2.

haha, g5 doesn't look that good there. 😛 The Keres is whites best try against the Schev. though, and still scores extremely high at 60% according to Starting Out: The Sicilian.

Yes, frankly I don't normally play e4 as white, but when he played the Sicilian, I thought I'd use it because I like the aggressiveness of the Keres. h6, just threw me off because doesn't that move take Black out of book?

No, that's the mainline move.

Actually, I don't think the Keres is theoretical at all, it should be very easy to play on principles alone.

I should have pointed out, that I had only ever SEEN this played before. I should never have played e4 to begin with since I am not prepared against Sicilian, Caro-Kann, Pirc, etc. I strayed out of my pond, and got caught 😛
