I like using a laptop for books as well, and it's great when you can download the pgn's that go along with the book. I just don't like playing games against the computer while on the computer. I don't mind logging on to this site for correspondence, but I just can't sit at a computer and play goo long games. This is why I started the thread about the ...[text shortened]... tice games but want to get off the computer, so an OTB computer seems like a great choice.
Ever heard of DGT products? It's pricey but very much worth it imo.Check it out here:

It doesn't matter you'll never get close to beating any of them.

I'm seeing that argument over and over and it just doesn't make sense. it's very simple, really. suppose you're rated 900, and you have a choice between a 2000 rated engine and a 3000 rated one. you wouldn't be able to beat any of them for a good 5 years at least, but it would make all the difference in the world while studying and analysing games with them.

please, just give up that argument. I have many of the top 10 entines, and analysing with rybka is very different from analysing with any other engine.

The top engines are all rated well over 2700+ , most of us mere mortals would never know the difference.

I don't think Rybka 3 has any serious bugs discovered yet, could you give examples?
Someone was nice enough to make a more detailed list of R3 bugs: http://rybkaforum.net/cgi-bin/rybkaforum/topic_show.pl?tid=7696
