Maybe I should start playing it again then. But, it sure is risky. The best dragon players usually have to throw something away to get the full flame power of the dragon going. 🙂 Knight sack! Kaboom!

The Dragon ,as any other opening,is not weak if played correctly.
It becomes weak if you play the wrong moves.
What do you do then if White pushes to black's King side? What about the pawn storms? Man, I can handle them in Najdorf Sicilian pretty much, but it's even more aggravating in the Dragon.

And the Nadjorf isn't? All the sicilian variations are somewhat risky. Black delays development and in return gets a better game structurally. Anyway, normally it's an exchange sac on c3. 🙂

Yes, but it's a matter of taste. The Najdorf just seems to be more solid. I just like it more. I don't have to fear the trading of the dragon bishop. But, hell, maybe i'll give it a shot more time. All I know is a 1900 player on RHP told me that if I continued to play the Dragon on here, they would eat me alive! So, I changed to the Najdorf. And, in my book, I think the Najdorf is far less risky than the Dragon.

Your 1400 rating indicates that a 1900 player would destroy you no matter what opening you played. The games I've seen of your tell me the same.
