Smothered Check

Does anyone know of any good strategies to get out of a smothered check (where your king is surrounded on all sides by friendly pieces, except for one or two that have you in check)? I know it probably varies with every game, but can y'all give me some general advice?

I don't get it.Smothered check?You must mean a smothered mate.But that can't be,'cause you can't get out of a mate.Confusing.Shed some light on this please😕
