I just lost this game against the mighty Petrovitch, he shows you how to shut down an attack here. I'm playing white, and manage to get some action going, then stall.

Anybody with a good idea for white?

EDIT - Working on my pgn....

Just glancing, but what about 29. Rf6, hitting the knight and the h7 square behind it? After 29. ... gxf6 30. Qxh6 Bf5 31. Qxf6+ Kg8 32. Bh6 I think all black has left is spite checks, as I don't see how he can prevent the queen from landing on the g7 square and delivering mate.

EDIT:

Hmm, maybe just wishful thinking... 29. ... Bg4! seems to throw a large wrench in the works. 😕

EDIT2:

More wishful thinking? 29. ... Bg4! 30. Qg5 seems to keep things prickly as the rook still can't be taken without suffering the same fate - 30. ...gxf6? 31. Qxf6 Kb8 32. Bxh6 and after more spite checks it's all over.

OK, I obviously am not getting the annotation part right. Little help? Wasn't GP doing a series on this

Edit - Ah - the smiley should not be in the annotations.

I looked at this! I saw Bg4, which was why I first moved the Q off a white square. It was a waste of time I guess...

it's the blog;

Put in the text like this.

1.e4 {good move} 1...e5 {even better} 2. Nc3 {The Vienna.} 2..Ke7 {I once played this as Black and won!}

You are not putting the black move number after the {} (see above)

It should look like this.

@ PBe6

Unfortunately if the Q moves off the h file, the black N is unpinned and can move away. Sacs on h7 all seem to fail, as the N can just come back, maybe Igloo was right I needed that other bishop 🙂
