Greetings players and fellow patzers 🙂

Thought it would be both instructive and fun to make a thread for people to show positions from games they either lost or drew, when in fact a win was there.

I'll start by showing 2 of mine, both from games where a draw was agreed.

#1 - Game 10610816 - I missed it three times in this game 🙁

Black to play

#2 - Game 10440191 - This one just makes me sad

White to play

Coming in with a fresh mind, I can imagine many of you getting these straight away.
Isn't it funny how perspectives change over time?

Show all of your howlers, so that we may [possibly] learn something! 😀

Yes, they are easy once someone tells you "this position has a forced win!" No one tells you that [at least, they're not supposed to tell you] during the game.

Hi,

can I just check the answers?

I'm pretty sure of the first one (I put white on the bottom to get the pgn right)

(I notice that black's moves appear in the left column in the pgn viewer. Is there a way to solve this?)

The other one is more difficult, but I think this should win.

SOLV'D!

I missed both of those during the games 🙁

Anyone else care to add any? Perhaps some more difficult?
