I got this tournament book last week.Figured I'd post every game that makes a special impression on me.
First is Schlechter-Salwe which won Schlechter the first brilliancy prize.
Offering the exchange on move 22 and the stunning 30th move are a delight!
Schlechter should have been World Champion. His loss to Lasker in the last game of their 1910 match probably cost him his life - he died of starvation eight years later, something which surely wouldn't have happened if he had been World Champion.
