The cover of the reprint of Steinitz's "Modern Chess Instructor", one of the very first book Fischer had laid his hands upon, is pretty strange when you observe it little longer.

If you search for Steinitz on the internet, you'll find pictures and drawings of Steinitz on which he is looking differently, somewhat squabby, squatty almost fat. Like bearded Oliver Hardy.

This "Steinitz" on the cover of the book bears a striking resemblance to bearded Fischer in his last years!

He does indeed look like a latter day Fischer.
There was no drawing on the original 'Instructor'.
Perhaps the artist was having a private joke.

They say dog owners start to look like their dogs., if You Google
'dog owners who look like their dogs.' you will find many examples.

Maybe, after a while, chess players start to look like their heroes.
Perhaps that the reason why so many of us look like Fred Reinfeld.

But this is other way round: the hero started to look like the follower (thanks to new publisher about half a century later).

Regarding Fred Reinfeld, he was a profilic mystificator.
Now I remember: 80 percent of all competitors in last three Malta Opens looked like him:
