Why does everyone assume that people who subscribe don't cheat?
Is it because they think it's dumb to pay to cheat?
Well, isn't it equally pointless to play to cheat?
I don't think most of us understand these guys well enough to make assumptions about them.
Maybe they want more games, to win faster!

I can think of a few who subscribed and have been banned. I don't suppose it matters much whether whether a person pays or not when it comes to cheating.

Very similar topics have been brought up numerous times, stop digging in the graveyard of dead repetitive threads, and post something that hasn't been discussed. If you still need some self-satisfaction look for threads where this has been discussed. That is all.

True, I was just interested because it seems like many members do not consider players to be cheating if they're subscribed and I was worried most people had this strange idea.

dance master: show me a thread just like this one and I will stop.

I'm not good at looking for old threads...

Especially a thread since he's been here..................with his current usename anyway.

I don't know anyone who assumes subscribers don't cheat merely because they have subscribed.

I just checked latest ten players banned for engine use. None of the ten were subscribers. I think if you checked all the banned engine players, the vast majority aren't subscribers. That is not to say there aren't a few subscribers on the cheating list. If you think about it, why should you pay to pretend you're a good player when you can do it for free? I don't know why players cheat, so i guess trying to follow their thought processes is a waste of time. I believe some clan players didn't want to let down their team members even tho they didn't have the time to play a heavy load of games competently. That's not an excuse. It's the closest i can get to a reasonable explanation. Many of the cheaters are just plain nut jobs who have no interest in chess, just in themselves.

No, most were subscribers but their subscriptions have been cancelled or expired.

90% or more of the players banned for engine use have been subscribers.

Not subscribers now because they have been banned but they were subscribers at the time.

How can you tell if it's a banned nonsubscriber who was a subscriber at the time they were banned?
